Join us for a musical box of treats, interweaving Mozart’s boisterous ‘Posthorn’ Serenade with seven of Schubert’s greatest songs. Two star soloists join Orchestra for the Earth, who enchanted a packed audience at last year’s festival. Mozart’s dazzlingly diverse serenade, with its imaginative solos for piccolo and posthorn, is a delicious smorgasbord: boisterous, sorrowful, and everything in between.
Schubert’s songs are equally wide-ranging, rich in emotion and imagination and often touching on the idea of song itself, from his own ‘Serenade’ (‘Ständchen’) to the Shepherd yodelling down to his beloved from a mountaintop in ‘The Shepherd on the Rock.’ It promises to be an unforgettable evening in the park!
This is a discounted ticket is for General Seating.
Unless cancelled by the Royal Parks, all events will take place whatever the weather conditions (cover is provided except for the final two concerts, August 3 and 4).
